As we sought shelter from the pouring rain
And Mister Young sang «Like a Hurricane»
It made me numb, it made me weak as well
And paralyzed as far as I could tell

I spent three hours on empty highways
An endless loop like most of my past days
The pouring rain had passed on further then
And just like me did not come back again

There was a liquor store not far from here
It is beyond me that I called it dear

Is it the truth, I think is what I see
Or do I bend it that it fits to me
I had a friend who told me on and on
It makes no sense to hide from everyone
